Anil Hansjee and Russ Cummings latest in series of Corporate to VC moves

Anil Hansjee is now "Mr M&A" for Google in Europe.  The former IDG Ventures Principal who wasAnil recently with GP Bullhound will be on the road scouting for companies and working for Salman Ullah and Nikesh as Head of European Corp Dev.  Anil is a great guy who always wears a big smile on his face (except on his IDG mugshot...).

He is the latest in a recent series of moves affecting the corporate ventures landscape in Europe:

  • Simon Levene, former TW and @Home, is slated to join Accel Partners as a Venture Partner after he finishes with Yahoo in weeks to come, adding to the internet credentials of the London team.  Judy Gibbons, former MSN VP, works with Accel in this capacity  and has been very involved operationally with companies like WeeMee and AutoQuake (where you too can buy Caprice's Porsche).
  •
  • Baruk Pilo recently joined Simon at Fidelity Ventures from Cisco, also as Venture Partner.  We had the pleasure of having Baruk, who used to do the same at Oracle, as co-investor on the board of Jaluna, for which we led the Series A and were joined by Cisco and Index.
  •
  • Finally, in related news, we saw that Imperial Innovations has appointed Russ Cummings, formerly of SEP and 3i, as its CIO, as it prepares to float on AIM.
